Andy Murray in the Wimbledon 2017
Andy Murray will have to overcome great pressure put on him. The nation will desire to the hero defend the title. What should be taken into account is the fact that Andy has refused to participate in the exhibition match and is said to be suffering from hip issues. Probably, he’s just being on the safe side. Anyway, Murray doesn’t seem to be full of confidence. The start of the event will be very significant. The Brit regularly has tough times in the opening rounds looking for his tennis.
We expect this year Andy will make it to the finals only under very favorable circumstances. His main opponents – Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic – look much better at the moment.
Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon 2017
The Spaniard doesn’t come as a favorite to the grass court event. We also don’t believe Nadal will struggle a lot preferring to save legs on grass that has a high injury rate. Moreover, we expect there will be lots of players in the event who will make troubles to Rafa. Besides Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, there are also Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov, Alexander Zverev, Lucas Pouille, Gilles Muller and Richard Gasquet. All of them will be competitive in the tournament.
Stan Wawrinka in the Wimbledon 2017
Despite his defeat in the R1 of the ATP Queen’s, Stan’s play was rather good. There were some problems with return, but he holds his own serve well. Clearly, the Swiss isn’t the main favorite to the title. His chances are very low. He can probably reach the QF if he doesn’t meet Lopez.
Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon 2017
We believe that Djokovic is the main favorite to the championship. Finally, Novak is angry and it’s very important. Well, we see that the latest results really hurt him. And it’s time to show good play to reach to the ATP Finals. It’s important that the grass is very suitable for Novak’s style. The Serb likes fast courts because force and muscle power are not so important here. So we think that at least he should reach the Wimbledon final.
Roger Federer in the Wimbledon 2017
In our opinion, Roger Federer is the second favorite. In Halle’s final Roger showed his teeth. The Swiss can show really good play in one or two matches. Probably, it will be enough to win, but only if he doesn’t face Djokovic. Otherwise, the meeting between the both can be named a pre-term final.
Marin Cilic, Lucas Pouille, Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon 2017
These red-hot three players are capable of thundering out this year in Wimbledon. Considering their recent pre-event performance, they can show teeth to the big favorites. Any of them can make the headlines. But while others have been practicing, Lucas Pouille set for vacation. We’ll see what the French is up to.
Feliciano Lopez and Gilles Muller in the Wimbledon 2017
These two are grouped together for some reasons: the both are the recent champions (Lopez has claimed Queen’s title, Muller – Hertogenbosch) in their best form with efficient play on grass. They will be highly dangerous for the opponents in the early rounds. However, the fortnight of best-of-five matches will be too hard for these guys. Besides, the previous winning events will affect their performance now.
Kei Nishikori, Dominic Thiem and other big names in the Wimbledon
But for those mentioned above, there are no other players with winning chances. And the reasons are numerous. Nick Kyrgios and Kei Nishikori are not 100% fit, Dominic Thiem and Jack Sock don’t favor grass, Grigor Dimitrov and Ivo Karlovic find it hard to close out best-of-five matches, Juan Martin Del Potro has no practice on grass.
So those are strong are equally strong, those are less competitive have their own reasons for this.

Such evaluation of Gasquet from the bookmakers is understandable. The Frenchman lost his two previous encounters in a row to Monaco and Nadal, which is a sign of a bad form from Richard.
