Tennis tips and betting picks: Ivo Karlovic v Nikoloz Basilashvili at the Memphis Open
The Memphis Open officials have been kind to the Georgian player scheduling his first match late. Basilashvili thanked everyone showing very high quality tennis. But Thompson wasn’t been a very challenging opponent as his technique didn’t suit the fast courts.
Ivo Karlovic will set a tougher test to his rival. To outplay him, Nikoloz will have to produce effective passing shots at the net. So far passing shots were far from Nikoloz strong sides. He prefers to play at high speeds at the baseline.
As for betting lines, we like Ivo’s win in 2 sets. This wager will differ from the negative handicap market -2 only by the assumption that Ivo may lose the first set at a tie breaker, while the odds are higher. The handicap market is also too risky as Ivo may also lose the opening set with a break and it’ll be next to impossible to cover -4 or -5 handicap during the three-set match.
Betting pick: Ivo Karlovic in 2 sets.
Tennis tips and betting picks: Damir Dzumhur v Ryan Harrison at the Memphis Open
Things are going great for Ryan Harrison this year. The American is getting married in a few weeks and is back to No.62 in the ATP rankings partly due to his win at a Challenger event in Dallas. Ryan moves well and has a very reliable first serve. In Memphis he has knocked down Konstantin Kravchuk and Sam Querrey in straight sets.
Up to him now is Damir Dzumhur. The player from Bosnia-Herzegovina will have difficult times against the American. Damir has not such a big serve as Sam Querrey who was beaten by Ryan and will have to try hard to hold his service.
Betting pick: Ryan Harrison in 2 sets.
Tennis tips and betting picks: John Isner v Donald Young at the Memphis Open
An all-American quarterfinal will feature John Isner and Donald Young meeting each other for the 5th time on the professional tour. Both of the players show powerful and consistent tennis. John gets winning points on his opponents’ serves and produces very effective shots from the baseline. As for Young, the American is very good on his serve but we believe in John Isner. We guess that the former runner-up in Memphis should take another step to his victory.
Betting pick: John Isner in 3.

Such evaluation of Gasquet from the bookmakers is understandable. The Frenchman lost his two previous encounters in a row to Monaco and Nadal, which is a sign of a bad form from Richard.

Probably. But Johnson's service is good, so Roger will rarely make more than one break in a set.
