Tennis tips and betting predictions. Richard Gasquet vs Paul-Henry Mathieu in the ATP Montpellier final
Richard Gasquet has made it into the final, but it was not an easy thing to do. If Brown had been a little bit luckier in the second set, he would be the finalist. Ricard serves poorly. He has a high first serve percentage, but his serve is not that fast (160 – 170 km/h) and sharp. Looks like his back injury is strongly affecting his game. The Frenchman also hits a lot of short balls, which are easy to handle.
Paul-Henry Mathieu shows fine tennis. Most of the matches he played here were complicated and close, but he managed to win them all to meet Gasquet in the final match. He has left a lot energy along the way, but now Paul-Henry has to get a second wind to fight for the title (Mathieu hasn’t won any for 8 years already). We expect a close battle. Mathieu may be less consistent, than Gasquet, but Richard has problems playing at a fast pace.
So, we predict a close match with no clear favorite.

Such evaluation of Gasquet from the bookmakers is understandable. The Frenchman lost his two previous encounters in a row to Monaco and Nadal, which is a sign of a bad form from Richard.
Everything in this match counts in favor of the Spaniard. Nadal, as a real locomotive, took long to get into stride. But having accelerated he becomes unstoppable. Rafa performed well in Madrid
