Tennis tips and betting predictions. ATP Doha 2015. Tomas Berdych v David Ferrer final encounter
Tomas Berdych shows outstanding tennis these days! He has already won exhibition event in Thailand and now will struggle to lift the Qatar Exxon Mobil title. We would like to notice that the Czech has significantly improved his “ball pot” technique. Tomas has diversified his ordinary combinations and started to play with a view to his opponent’s play. His shots have become accurate and impressive. The rallies have become shorter and the Czech has deprived of excessive footwork and movements. There is something about Novak Djokovic in his tennis today.
The Czech No.1 will come up against David Ferrer, who owes his appearance in the final to Ivo Karlovic. The Spaniard got a lucky draw in Doha: De Bakker and Dastin Brown fall short of Ferrer, Verdasco is a very comfortable opponent for him too. So Karlovic was the only one who could stop Ferrer. And if he had played as he did against Djokovic, Ferrer would have as little final chance as of seeing his own ears. Right now the Czech seems to be in a better form. The only component he can oppose against Berdych is his strong character. We’ve written a lot about the Czech’s ability of losing close matches. So Ferrer should impose long rallies from the baseline to throw Berdych off.
Frankly speaking, this is the most difficult match to predict out of all that will take place on Saturday. We see two possible outcomes. Either we’ll witness confident (!) win by Tomas Berdych, which is more likely, or Ferrer will impose Tomas balls exchange and the Czech will be out of his stride. In this case the Spaniard has big winning chances. But considering the long-lasting semifinal Ferrer – Karlovic the latter scenario is a very remote possibility to happen.
