Tennis tips and betting predictions. Andreas Haider-Maurer – Jan-Lennard Struff match preview
Jan-Lennard Struff has found his peak form on the eve of the Davis Cup where he played two decent matches against Simon and Mahut. But on the American courts Struff has obtained only one victory over Becker and lost it to Garcia-Lopez, Kokkinakis and Smyczek. Struff is definitely a good player but he lacks strong character of a fighter. He is aged 24 and most of his troubles are mental ones. As soon as something goes wrong and he fails to win easy scores by his booming shots, Jan-Lennard gives up and loses any match.
Andreas Haider-Maurer has shown very solid play on clay in Brazil. He upset Ramos, Robredo and spent a thrilling encounter against Sousa. The exhausted Austrian even managed to offer resistance to David Ferrer in the first set. Clay is Andreas’ favorite surface: he possesses good defense and reliable serve. All this makes Haider-Maurer a very inconvenient opponent for Struff. One needs either good baseline play or very consistent shots to outplay Haider-Maurer. Unfortunately for Struff, he has neither of them in his arsenal. Moreover, this year Struff hasn’t played on clay so far.
So our Dotennis team consider that Haider-Maurer will win the upcoming match.
