Tennis tips and betting predictions. Tomas Berdych vs John Isner in Mutua Madrid Open 2015
Nobody in men’s tour has owned Isner quite like Tomas Berdych. John simply can’t put any pressure on the Czech No. 1. Isner has a very weak return play and his playing arsenal lacks baseline tools. All he can do is to use his booming forehand. But Tomas has already learnt to play these shots. Isner is hardly capable of producing three-four productive shots in a row.
Another problem is Berdych’s return that will cause additional troubles to the American. As for the physical form, Berdych has played two matches in Madrid and showed very solid tennis. But we guess that he will show more as he did on Monte-Carlo courts.
John Isner is conquering the European clay. The American showed awesome tennis in Monte-Carlo and keeps bringing joy to his fans in the current action in Madrid. John booked his place in the last eight by defeating Adrian Mannarino, Thomaz Bellucci and Nick Kyrgios. In the last occasion against the Australian, Isner was good at returning his rival’s second serve, made strong forehand hits and had no troubles with defending his own serve. But all this extra workload will hardly help to beat Berdych who knows how to deal with Isner’s high-kicking serve. Don’t forget that Tomas serves well and actively defends his service play. So Isner will have a lot of problems in this quarterfinal battle.
To sum it up, we expect that Tomas Berdych will make it to the Madrid semifinals.
