Tennis tips and betting predictions. Ernests Gulbis vs David Goffin in Mutua Madrid Open
Ernests Gulbis is one of the top losers of the current season. His tennis quality is the worst among all top 20 players. The Latvian managed to win only 1!!! match throughout this season. It would be honest to tag him “a master of disaster”. It looks like even his pride is still asleep. Of course, we do believe that sooner or later Ernests will get hot. The question is when.
David Goffin is also far from his best this year. Judging by his end-of-the-year- results of the previous season, David should have jumped into top 15, but it didn’t happen. Nevertheless, he showed very decent tennis in Munich. We guess that now David shall perform much better. As for his playing style, Goffin takes into consideration his opponents’ technique and sharply returns all strong shots.
As a result, Gulbis will be very comfortable opponent for his younger opponent. Fast-speed shots will be very difficult to handle for the slow Gulbis who tends to take his time to process each shot. The only danger here is Gulbis’ service play. Shall the Latvian be himself (as it was in Indian-Wells when he faced Gimeno-Traver), he may present a challenge to Goffin. But even in this case the Belgian is the favorite to the upcoming match.
In summary, Dotennis team think that it will be David Goffin who will progress to the next round.
