SPECIAL ASPECTS OF BETTING TENNIS LIVE
We used to say that some matches have really poor pre-match odds to bet at them, but their value is likely to increase during the match if one of the players breaks the opponent’s serve. Noteworthy, that in-play live betting is a speeded up version on the bet markets, as at times you place all your money available. Unlike flat-betting (where the bet size remains fixed), live bets are similar to stock-market gambling. Playing both you will constantly be on edge.
The odds are jumping around dramatically, the sizes of handicaps and totals are also changing after every point. It all is rather complicated and the beginners in betting may lose big stakes. Whilst those who have a good knowledge of in-play bets tend to make good profits. Put simply, live bets may both be very profitable and bankrupting. And be ready that in-play betting will push your adrenaline level up. Try it and you’ll see what we mean.
The essence of live betting coincides with that of flat betting - you search for the events with high value. But even if you’ve found this value you must wait for it. Something is unclear? Let us clarify this idea. Let’s sum up all the peculiarities of betting live.
Live betinng. Bet against "exhausted" players
This is probably the most simple, reliable and money-making strategy on the bets market. Imagine that you’ve noticed that a player looks exhausted, but he managed to win the recent long-lasting match (or matches) comprising 3 sets of 2 hours or maybe it was a 5-sets grand-slam match. Put it simply, there should be any factor explaining the player’s fatigue. Furthermore, when the line is assigned you begin to notice that this is not a highly potential match: the drowned player may pull off the first set, but it’s not unclear whether he would be able to succeed by the end of the match. If it is so, congratulations! You’ve come across a good match to bet on live.
Let’s take the ATP final in Madrid 2014 as an example. Kei Nishikori vs Rafael Nadal. Nishikori was knocked out by the long-lasting semifinal against David Ferrer. We also know that stamina has never been the Japanese player’s strongest point. The pre-match odds for Rafael Nadal were far from being perfect, only 1,13. And the -5 handicap is not something we dreamt about, so we decided to bet on live. And what do we see when the score line is 6:2, and 2:0 to the Japanese advantage, the odds to Nadal have risen to 3. And this is exactly what we were waiting for. First of all, there is still time for Nadal to make a break, secondly, the odds are high enough. At such odds we would need a single victory to break even. (Just wait till the odds for Nadal are the highest). Of course, the things should not necessarily go this way. If Nadal have taken the first set and made a break in the second one, we would have placed no bets at all. But we all remember the outcome of this match. By the way, we gave a tip to -5 handicap and got our stake back. And those who joined us to bet on live, got some money from this match.
We’d like to add that at times it’s easy to catch the ageing players on fatigue: Štěpánek, Benneto, Haas; and those known for their poor stamina: Gasquet, Dimitrov, Nishikori. And we don’t recommend betting on the fatigue live against Wawrinka, Ferrer, Nadal, Robredo. These guys are tough players with the second breath. At our times we have stepped on this rake. You shouldn’t do it again.
Live bet. Insurance in live betting.
We won’t talk long about this issue. We only want to notice that insurance betting is a strategy that will bring you profits under any circumstances. Let’s take a match Djokovic – Ferrer on the Rome Masters as an example. Let us assume that we bet 100 bucks at 1,75 odds and with the pre-match -2,5 handicap on Djokovic. Nole takes the first set with the score 7:5. But it’s a tough struggle with no outright winner and it’s still unclear whether Djokovic could cover the handicap. But we also see that the odds for Ferrer have increased to 2.9 with a+2,5 handicap. The situation is pretty good for us as we can place bets on the opposite outcomes and win for sure! In our case we wager 60 bucks (with the maximum profit possible of 75 bucks) on Ferrer with +2,5 handicap. And shall Ferrer save this handicap we’ll win 14 bucks, shall he lose it – we’ll win 15 bucks. That is how insurance bets work. Live bets. A player can’t keep in the game.
Live bet. "Lose the begging"
Betting on favorites who lose the beginning of the match or underdogs who hardly manage to scrape through one game. A good example is a recent quaterfinal Nadal - Murray. Murray dominated the first set which reflected in 6:1 score. The odds to Nadal at that moment increased from pre-match 1,14 to 1,98. Well, we understood that the negative handicap wouldn’t pass and wagered on Nadal. As it’s very hard to keep 80% of the first serve (and that was exactly what the British player shoed during the 1sr set). And so we backed the Spaniard who as we all remember expended the match and defeated his British opponent. So to cut the long story short, these are the 3 main strategies of live betting. We also remind you that skillful live bets may increase your bankroll by a minimum of 20% a month, if not 50% or even 100%.
And as usually the best for last: best knockouts ever!
